In search of India’s smartest buildings – Honeywell Smart Building Awards are here!

Honeywell believes that smarter buildings make smarter cities.

The place you where you live has a considerable impact on your thoughts and outlook towards life. Your home and office are more than concrete structures – you lead a major part of your life there. Today, if you look at advertisements on residential and commercial complex, you will see building owners or facility managers talking about the state-of-the-art technology, encompassing critical safety needs like fire safety, water purification system, 24X7 internet connectivity, and so on.

Technology has become an integral part of life, and more so the use of technology at places where we live, work and play. Automation, cloud, and Internet of Things (IoT) are not only transforming our workplaces, they are changing the way we live. Data and advanced analytics have quietly entered our living rooms, schools, hospitals, and hotels. As our phones, laptops, and cars are becoming smarter, so are our buildings.

Building owners are not only offering better architectural designs, but are also providing a suite of newer technologies that make buildings smarter, greener, and safer for the occupants. Honeywell believes that smarter buildings make smarter cities.

In 2015, Honeywell launched the Honeywell Smart Building Score™ in India, a first-of-its-kind global tool to measure a building’s smartness. The self-assessment tool assesses 15 technology asset groups in a building that make it green, safe, and productive, based on the building assets’ overall capability, coverage, and uptime. HSBS™ has direct and immediate benefits for the industry, building owners, and managers because it provides vertical-specific and building-specific analytics to help drive targeted interventions.

To recognize India’s smartest buildings, Honeywell launched the Honeywell Smart Building Awards (HSBA) later in 2015. Applications for this year’s Honeywell Smart Buildings Awards with Network18 group and KPMG (process evaluators and validators) are being accepted.

On successful submission of the application, the facility manager of the building will receive an email with a link to an online survey. The scores will be validated by KPMG and affirmed by an eminent jury composed of India’s leading authorities on energy efficiency, safety, security, and productivity in buildings.
