Two brothers, both in their teens, were allegedly raped by their stepfather one year apart.
The Delhi Police said it has arrested the accused, a 46-year-old hotel staffer, from his home in East Delhi. He allegedly targeted the children in the absence of their mother and committed unnatural offences against them, according to police. The accused has been booked under charges of the POCSO Act, assault, and unnatural offences.
Police said the accused had married the boys’ mother a year ago. The first complaint was received against him last February when the younger boy alleged he had been repeatedly raped by the accused.
“A complaint was made by the family. The man was arrested within a few days and sent to jail, and a chargesheet was filed. He even spent 10-12 months in judicial custody but was later released on bail. We came to know that during the trial, the victim turned hostile…,” said an officer who refused to be named.

The man went back to living with the woman and her children. On September 17, the elder son alleged he too was being sexually assaulted by the stepfather.
The boy, in his complaint to police, said his mother works odd jobs to support the family. While his mother was out for work, he claimed his stepfather abused and sexually assaulted him. He also alleged that he was abused on several occasions earlier, said police.

DCP (Shahdara) Rohit Meena said, “We have arrested the accused based on the complaint lodged by the mother and the child’s statement. We found that there is another POCSO Act case against him. We are conducting an investigation. Strict legal action will be taken.”
