Colleague held for killing man over monetary issue in Sarojini Nagar

A 24-year-old man was arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly killing his colleague, an employee at Survey Of India, over a monetary issue in Southwest Delhi’s Sarojini Nagar, police said.

The accused has been identified as Anish. An amount of Rs five lakh in cash, two vehicles and assault weapons were recovered from him.

DCP (Southwest) Manoj C. said that on August 29, they received information about a missing person identified as Mahesh, a surveyor in the office of Survey of India at Defence Officers Complex near Sarojini Nagar Depot. A missing report was lodged by his brother Manish at RK Puram Police Station.

In the missing report, it was informed that on August 28 around 12:30 PM, the victim, Manesh called his his sister-in-law and told her that he was going to meet his colleague Anish at RK Puram but since then he has been missing. When the victim’s family contacted the accused, he said that the victim came to see him but he put together a different story.

The DCP said that a police team was formed then and the last location of the victim was traced in Faridabad. The enquiry, it was revealed that Anish was found guilty of killing Mahesh. During the interrogation, Anish said that he killed Mahesh as he took a debt of Rs nine lakh from the victim and the latter he was forced by him to return the money back.

He told the family member that Manesh had come to meet him but went away to meet another person and gave him his car and its key. Anish dumped the body at a vacant house in RK Puram and fled the scene.
