Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday attacked the Ashok Gehlot government, saying that Hindus will behead the Congress in the upcoming polls.
Addressing BJP’s Parivartan Sankalp Yatra in Jodhpur, Sarma repeatedly brought up the murder of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiyalal last year, without taking his name. “Aaj Rajasthan ko poora desh kya naam se jaanta hai? Ke yahan pe Hindu ko sar tan juda kiya jaata hai (How does the entire country know Rajasthan today? That a Hindu is beheaded here). They’ve made history in Rajasthan,” Sarma said, while recalling that it is the birthplace of brave people such as Maharana Pratap.

Sarma’s jibe came on a day the Ashok Gehlot cabinet decided to give government jobs to two youths, Prahlad Singh Chundawat and Shakti Singh Chundawat, who helped nab the main accused in the Kanhaiyalal murder case.
Speaking at the rally, Sarma said: “It is a matter of immense sadness that in Rajasthan, humare logon ko sar tan juda kar diya jaate hai (our people are beheaded). Ashok Gehlot bolta hai ki hum Rajasthan mein Hindutva hone nahi denge. Arey bhai tum kaun ho? (Ashok Gehlot says that he won’t let Hindutva flourish in Rajasthan. Who are you?) Rajasthan had Hindutva 5,000 years ago, has Hindus today, and will have Hindus till the time there is the sun and the moon.”

“If not Hindutva, then will Babar-tantra (rule of Babar) run here? Will Babar rule here? To bring Babars you also manipulate the voter list. Don’t know why Congress loves Babar so much,” he said.
