IPL 2024 CSK Team Players List: One of the most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League and the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings, will be a team to watch out for this coming season as well.
But before that, the team from the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu will look to bolster their squad depth in the IPL 2024 auctions, which is happening in Dubai on Tuesday.
In IPL 2023, Chennai Super Kings had prevailed over the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans in the final to prevent the team in its sophomore year from winning a second title.
Unlike teams like Gujarat and the Mumbai Indians, CSK will go into the season without any volatility in the captaincy positions with Mahendra Singh Dhoni handed the reins after a brief phase of Ravindra Jadeja being made the captain.
Even before the auction on Tuesday at Dubai’s Coca Cola Arena, the team had a strong base of Indian players in the side with Dhoni, Jadeja, and Ruturaj Gaikwad being backed up by Ajinkya Rahane, Deepak Chahar, Shivam Dube and Tushar Deshpande.
Ahead of the IPL auctions 2024, Chennai Super Kings released foreign players like Ben Stokes, Dwaine Pretorius, Kyle Jamieson and Sisanda Magala besides Indians like Ambati Rayudu.
Purse remaining
The Chennai Super Kings will be going into the auction with a purse of Rs 31.4 crores with six overseas slots to be filled. Of these, three are for foreign players.
