Watch: Lazio goalkeeper scores astonishing 95th minute goal to stun Atletico Madrid in UEFA Champions League

Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel scored with the game’s last touch to earn his club a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Provedel became only the second keeper in Champions League history to score a non-penalty with this sensational effort.

It all happened in the game’s final minutes when Atletico, leading 1-0, were defending a set-piece when Provedel left his area to add support in attack and scored with a header to Luis Alberto’s cross.

While reflecting on his effort after the game, Provedel said, “I’m going to enjoy this. But we only got one point; we didn’t win,” before adding that he modeled his attacking style after Lazio center forward Ciro Immobile.

“It’s a great feeling and I’ve still not come to terms with it. The most difficult thing it was dodging the slaps at the end, luckily Luis Alberto kicked it there,” Provedel added while talking to Mediaset after the game.

Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri said that his team fully deserved a point.

The 64-year-old Sarri admitted that he certainly hadn’t expected Provedel to grab a last-gasp equaliser. “We found a solution eventually!” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.
