It’s Kapoor vs Kapoor fight before ‘Dream Girl’ Pooja arrives on August 25. Ekta Kapoor bankrolled Dream Girl 2 is set to release tomorrow, with Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday playing the lead. As part of the promotions, Chunkey Pandey, Bhavana Panday and Maheep Kapoor had earlier featured in hilarious videos. And now, Sanjay Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor have shot a video expressing their excitement about meeting Pooja.
The video shot in a gym sees the two actors huffing and puffing as their pick up weights working on their physique. They quiz each other about the reason for them prepping hard. While Tusshar mentions he has a special date soon, Sanjay too adds he’s working out for pooja. His statement makes the Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai actor wonder how he’s working hard for a pooja and not a party. It’s only when the two mention the same date — August 25 that they start doubting if they are meeting the same Pooja. The voiceover also states that soon they will get to know ‘Pooja kis Kapoor ke sath hogi’.
Ekta Kapoor posted the video with the caption, “Pachees August waakayi hoga mast, jab @pooja___dreamgirl ke saare aashiq aayenge ek saath!”
The sequel of 2019, Dream Girl 2 will see Ayushmann Khurrana play a man, who dresses up as a woman Pooja to collect money to repay his father’s debt. Soon begins a series of comedy of errors as the debtor’s son falls in love with his woman avatar.

Ayushmann Khuranna on Dream Girl 2
In a chat with with indianexpress.com, Ayushmann Khurrana described his experience playing Pooja as “reaching the epitome of femininity”. Explaining why he decided to play Pooja so “in your face”, the actor shared, “I really wanted to go all out with this character and reach the epitome of femininity and the closest competition was Ananya Panday, so I had put in a lot of effort in this one. And, I am glad people have liked Dream Girl and I hope they continue to do so in Dream Girl 2 as well.”
Talking further about jumping to comedy from his otherwise social-drama, he said, “It is the same genre of unconventional subject, out-of-box characters and bringing some novelty on screen. Around 25-30 years ago, Kamal Haasan sir and Govinda did it, but this is refreshing in the current generation, so I am excited. But this is that brand only but it has a wider palette and is more massy. Other than that all my films have always been middle-of-the-road cinema, this is front-bencher massy.”

Directed by Raj Shaandilyaa, Dream Girl 2 also stars Paresh Rawal, Abhishek Banerjee, Annu Kapoor and Vijay Raaz among others.
