Sam Bahadur box office collection day 20: Vicky Kaushal’s film holds its ground before Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki takes over

In the face of stiff competition, the Vicky Kaushal-starrer Sam Bahadur has displayed remarkable resilience at the box office since its release on December 1. Despite the challenge posed by Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, the film has maintained a steady pace, with Wednesday’s collections standing at Rs 1.50 crore, according to the industry tracker Sacnilk. This takes Sam Bahadur’s domestic collections to an impressive Rs 81.20 crore.

The film experienced a surge in collections on Saturday, witnessing a 100 percent increase, raking in Rs 4.5 crore. Sunday saw a further 16 percent boost with collections standing at Rs 5.25 crore. However, Monday and Tuesday witnessed a slight dip with collections at Rs 1.6 crore and Rs 1.5 crore, respectively. The film regained momentum on Wednesday, collecting Rs 1.5 crore. Sam Bahadur’s global collection now stands at Rs 109.1 crore.

Having crossed the Rs 100 crore mark globally on Sunday, Vicky Kaushal expressed his gratitude in a note, stating, “Sam Bahadur marches on with pride & victory at the box office, and we are grateful! #Samबहादुर in cinemas now! Book your tickets! Link in bio. #SamIsHere #SamBahadur.” Director Meghna Gulzar also celebrated the film’s success with a similar message.

However, the showcasing of Sam Bahadur is set to decrease significantly, as Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki hits cinemas on December 21. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film features Vicky in a supporting role, alongside Taapsee Pannu, and Boman Irani, and is expected to dominate the box office alongside Prabhas’ action-packed Salaar, which releases later.
