Nothing unveils Phone (2) powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, price starts at Rs 44,999

Nothing today launched the much-anticipated Phone (2), a premium phone that looks like its predecessor but brings several under-the-hood changes and an improved design. While it may look similar to the Phone (1) at first sight, the new mid-frame, which is made from 100 per cent recycled aluminium is thinner and slightly more curved.

Unlike the Phone (1), powered by the mid-tier Snapdragon 778G+ SoC, the recently launched device packs the flagship-grade Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and sports a 6.7-inch LTPO OLED screen that can dynamically adjust the refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz and help save battery when you are not using the phone.

The phone runs on Nothing OS 2.0 which introduces several new features. From app labels to grid design to widget size, the latest iteration of Nothing’s Android skin lets you customise several aspects of the operating system. The company also added new widgets that come with swipeable views and animations and can be added to the lock screen.

Nothing also made some improvements to its Glyph interface, which now lets you assign different lighting sequences for individual contacts and supports third-party apps like Uber which can show you how far your ride is using the lights on the back. Another useful addition is the new Glyph Composer, an app that lets you create custom ringtones 8 to 10 seconds long using the Glyph sound pack. The LED lights on the back can also be customised to display information like battery level, volume level and even act as a countdown timer.

On the back, you get a dual camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX890 primary sensor and a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide lens. Nothing says the camera on the Phone (2) comes with 2X Super-Res Zoom, Motion Capture 2.0 and smart tuning effects aimed at improving the overall image quality. Nothing Phone (2) can now record videos in 4K at 60fps using the main rear camera.
